Stealth Tactics Fooling G!
I was doing an image search for my current home project, I clicked an image but when I was taken to the site the image was displayed for a fraction of a second and then the page is re-rendered with adverts.
This is plain stealth tactics is it not? gaining hits / ranking based on allowing G! to index images that only the bot can see and using JavaScript via AJAX or just DOM manipulation to alter the content.
1stly How are they getting away with this, it’s so blatant I’m amazed! Link :
Then I thought, well I use AJAX, I have a webform that I don’t want bots to spam, and I hate those CAPTCHA thingys, so I thought I’d employ ’stealth’ tactics not to fool the SE’s but to fool those pesky spam bots!
Unless they can trigger JS , they will never see my webform, it loads via AJAX!
So now I’m thinking, will G! see this as some type of SE stealth manipulation, which it isn’t and would be totaly unfair to consider it as such.
Then I’m thinking dang!, how can G! even start to dechiper / identify sites using AJAX and their purpose?
Any advice in this area is appreciated.
