Is My Web Site Not Responding Due To Url Rewriting?

Hello Friends,

I am managing an ecommerce web site. Our web site is database driven so we had url with ? and = . so. Recently we thought of rewriting the url which will be seo friendly and will attract more traffic and the keywords will rank on top. We had data of 40,000 records and it took approximately 5 days and was implemented in December 1st week.

But now the nightmare started . We are using a dedicated server and we found in google sitemap and in server that the server is consuming 95 100% the CPU resources . Also in sitemap we could see the graph as between December 1st till now the server resource graph has gone up . Hence we discussed with our server guys and programmers to sought out this issue. But the server guys says that it’s the problem of the web site application and the programmers says that it’s the problem of server. And in between we are held up as our business is on web site completely. Since the server is creating problems our web site traffic and hits have gone down considerably

Also when some one tries to order any product it gives time out or SQL error and hence we do not get any orders.

So friends is this because of SQL problem or URL rewriting problem or Server problem.
FYI , we are using SQL server express edition. Should we have to go for an standard edition since express edition is free. And we are using windows web edition and front end as ASP .

It would we great if you could kindly suggest the way out of this problem.

Waiting for your kind and early reply to save my job especially in the current market scenerio.

Many Thanks in advance and wish you all very happy New Year.

Sharon
